Terry Demarco began his innovative career in hair at 17, when he accepted a part-time barber position offered to him by his father. After working in this field for a time, Terry decided to work at his uncle’s salon, where he mastered skills in the full spectrum of salon services. After perfecting his craft, Terry decided to take note of his clients’ need for a high-end, full service salon experience. In 1977, he opened Barberia Salon – one where he could take his passion for hair color to new heights. Iconic masters such as Vidal Sassoon helped inspire and channel his unique brand of leadership and his ability to foster a salon environment that has kept clients coming back for years. Today, Terry finds inspiration in up and coming hair stylists who express fearless creativity, an attribute that keeps Terry’s own work fresh and modern.
Terry first and foremost he serves his clients. This dedication is the catalyst to his success. His work is about crafting the total look, so whether you wish to fine tune your signature style or completely switch up your look, Terry produces your vision with ease. Terry’s philosophy is that a haircut and color only work if you consider the individuals’ hair type and condition, as well as their features and lifestyle, when personalizing their hair service. His enthusiasm for ensuring that each guest leaves with the best possible version of their. He works diligently to make sure each client feels as great on the inside as they look on the outside.

In 2020, due to complications with Covid-19 pandemic, Barberia Salon had to shut its doors. In response to his loyal client base, Terry has decided to continue doing hair part time on his own and works behind the chair part time San Mateo.
